Getting lost in the future, something that is easily both daunting and comforting. The future takes the shape of everything you allow it to which bestows an immense amount of power to yourself. It is easy to focus so intensely on a future that doesn’t exist that you become blinded to the present that you are in. Rose colored glasses are held in front of you from the hands of the future allowing everything in your vision to be softened. With the self-proclaimed promise of a better future it is easy to become complacent to the present you are in and allow yourself to slow down and settle to the point where you stop working towards the future you believe to exist. Finding the balance between believing in a future enough to work for it without going too far towards something that doesn’t yet exist that you ignore what is already in front of you.  This collection is my romanticization of the future of fashion through the use of modern innovations and technologies. An idealized version of the best of the future. The modernity, the fun, the colors, the silhouettes and the possibilities of what could be. It’s a reignition of the embers to a dying fire, full of independence, growth and hard feelings. The silhouettes are inspired by 1960s futurism. Gathering the feelings of now and melding them to the feelings of then. The collection is focused on sustainability and re-wearability. Elements can be swapped out and transformed, it's playful and useful. The fabrics used are new and innovative, recycled, biodegradable. Already right in front of us but imagined in a way that could lead to an even better future. The present is deserving of just as much attention as the future. Here's to nurturing the present, enjoying what each moment holds, and taking the weight of the future off the present. After all it's not here yet.
